LANSDALE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Hundreds of students from Catholic schools in Montgomery County took part in a community service event on Wednesday.
Elementary, middle and high school students helped package 1,500 bags filled with non-perishable items. The donation effort was hosted by Lansdale Catholic High School.
Students also put hand-written notes in the bags, adding a personal touch to the project.
This was all done to benefit Catholic Charities of Philadelphia's Out of School Time programs. They offer a variety of after-school activities in the late afternoon aimed at youth development and family support.
